THE BEST OF TWO WORLDS

Wireless safety meets safe bus systems

Simplifier Gateway for Profisafe

We have combined the best of two worlds: Wireless safety communication and PROFIsafe. We offer you a solution that adapts to your wishes and specifications - with extremely little effort on your part!

The Simplifier system is a versatile solution for various safety applications. With wireless communication and the integration of the PROFIsafe bus, it enables the protection of doors, drawers, lift gates and more. Flexible and customizable.

Why Profisafe with the Simplifier system?

Decentralized concept

  • Reduced wiring: The security functions are collected via the Simplifier devices and sent to the Simplifier Gateway
  • Every safety switch can now be transmitted via PROFIsafe: Using the Simplifier devices, almost all safety devices can be collected and connected to the system.

Flexible communication system

wireless applications

All Simplifier devices exchange information with each other wirelessly in the mesh network. The information is transmitted from the Simplifier devices to the Simplifier Gateway, which then communicates with the Siemens controller via PROFIsafe.

Alternatively, the Simplifier devices can also exchange data via CAN.
Regardless of whether CAN or wireless communication is used, all information reaches the Siemens control system via the Simplifier Gateway on PROFIsafe and can be programmed and managed centrally in the TIA programming software.

THE SIMPLIFIER SYSTEM

The strength of the Simplifier system lies in the fact that the safety functions can be freely combined. The Simplifier system offers the right protection for every requirement, be it on the lintel, a drawer, a lifting gate or, classically, a safety gate.

At the heart of the system is the Simplifier Gateway. The Simplifier devices positioned in the application communicate with each other wirelessly in a mesh network. A Simplifier device transmits all information to the Simplifier Gateway via Simple-CAN. From there, everything is sent securely to the Siemens controller via PROFIsafe.

What is the difference to conventional Profisafe systems?

Simplifier PROFIsafe concept

 Pros

  • Efficient integration: Reduced overall costs thanks to simplified connection options
  • Standardized safety technology: Only one PROFIsafe device is required, the Simplifier Gateway. This eliminates the need for complicated mixed systems that involve time-consuming storage and commissioning
  • Saves resources and time: less cabling thanks to M12 8-pin connections
  • Precise diagnostic capabilities: Precise status monitoring thanks to OSSD outputs

Usual PROFIsafe concepts

 Cons

  • Many different PROFIsafe devices, cost-intensive
  • Enormous wiring effort for the various participants
  • Inaccurate to no diagnosis of open or closed doors
  • Different PROFIsafe devices and technologies, additional effort:
    - Planning & commissioning
    - Maintenance & warehousing

Flexible installation on the lintel with Atom solenoid interlock.

The Simplifier Gatebox and the Simplifier Gateway can be installed independently of each other. Solenoid interlocks or other safety functions can be freely selected and connected via the Simplifier Gatebox. This offers maximum flexibility in the planning of the system and reduces the costs for the protective housing.

If, for design or functional reasons, the safety switch has to be fitted inside the safety fence or on the lintel of the door, this is no problem for the Simplifier system. The appropriate safety switch for the application is selected and connected to the corresponding M12 connector, regardless of whether this is 5, 8 or 12-pin, the appropriate connection interface is available.
